  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake carp in foil over coals? First of all, prepare all the products according to the list. It is better to use fresh fish. If you have frozen carp, remove it from the freezer in advance and leave it at room temperature until completely defrosted. Clean the fish from scales, remove the entrails and gills. Rinse the carcass thoroughly on all sides and inside. Dry the carp with a kitchen towel or paper towels to remove any remaining water.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Prepare the filling. You can stuff the carp with any vegetables and herbs to your taste. These can be onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, garlic, all kinds of greens, as well as lemon and seasonings. The classic filling is a few onion rings and lemon. The taste and aroma of the finished carp depends on the choice of herbs and vegetables, so choose the filling according to your preferences. I used dill, young onions, tomatoes, a few pieces of green garlic and some pepper.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Rinse the greens and dry. The sprigs of young onion and dill can be left as they are or chopped into small pieces.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add the remaining ingredients to the greens and lightly salt. Make cuts on the carp with a sharp knife, as in the photo. Wash and dry the lemon. Cut half a lemon into thin slices. Then cut each circle in half. If your lemon is too large, then chop the slices into quarters. Insert a piece of citrus into each cut on the fish.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

    Mix the filling.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Stuff the fish with herbs and vegetables.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Lay a sheet of foil on a flat surface. Place a few lemon slices in the middle. Place the carp on top of the lemon. Salt and pepper the fish (you can sprinkle with ready-made fish seasoning). Sprinkle the carp with a little lemon juice.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Wrap the fish well with foil on all sides. Do not skimp on the foil, make several layers so that during baking the foil is not damaged and the aromatic juice does not run out.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Light up the grill. Wait until there are coals left in it. If the coals are too large, then crush them with improvised means into smaller coals of approximately the same size.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Level the coals into a thin layer and place the carp on them. Sprinkle a small layer of remaining coals on top. Leave to bake in this way for 40-50 minutes. I had carp weighing about 1 kg and I baked it for 40 minutes.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Carefully remove the fish from the grill. Wait for the foil to cool slightly.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Unwrap the foil and serve the carp!

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Offer fresh or baked vegetables with fish. Very tasty both hot and cold!

Carp in foil on charcoal is an incomparable dish! The fish turned out tender, aromatic, appetizing, juicy and very tasty! For the filling I used carrots, onions, greens, and tomatoes. I rubbed the inside of the fish with spices, salt, and lemon juice. The foil completely prevented the juice from leaking out. Cook with pleasure and make your loved ones happy! Many thanks to the author for the great recipe 😘
