  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make bulgur with carrots and onions in a frying pan? Prepare everything you need according to the list.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place the bulgur in a deep bowl or cup of suitable size. Rinse several times under running cold water. Next, pour boiling water over the cereal and cover the cup with a lid. Leave the bulgur for 20-30 minutes. During this time, almost all the water will be absorbed by the bulgur grains.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Prepare all other ingredients. Peel the carrots, onions and garlic. Wash the vegetables and dry with napkins.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cut the carrots into small cubes or use a grater with large teeth. Chop the onion into small cubes or half rings. Chop the tomatoes randomly and not very large. If desired, remove the skins from the tomatoes first. Pass the garlic through a press or finely chop it by hand.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Send the carrots and onions to fry. Cook, stirring, over high heat until onion is translucent, 5 to 7 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add tomatoes and garlic to the frying. Fry over moderate heat for 2-3 minutes. Don't forget to stir everything periodically.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Drain the bulgur in a colander to drain the remaining excess liquid.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the cereal into the frying pan. Add salt to taste and ground black pepper. At this stage, you can use any of your favorite spices. Ground coriander, dry Provençal herbs and much more work very well. Mix everything, reduce heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and simmer until done, 15 to 20 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

After 5 minutes from the start of stewing the cereal, open the lid and check whether there is enough liquid in the pan. If there is little liquid (and this can happen if you used not very juicy tomatoes), then pour in a little boiling water, literally half a glass, and simmer until tender.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Bulgur is ready! Sprinkle with finely chopped herbs and serve!

I was looking on the website for options for side dishes for cutlets and decided to cook bulgur with onions and carrots in a frying pan. The bulgur needed to be poured with boiling water, which is what I did. Indeed, almost all the water has been absorbed, it is interesting to watch this. After this procedure, bulgur becomes ready much faster. I fried onion half rings in a frying pan and added carrots, grated into thin strips. My tomato is yellow, I first removed the skin from it. After adding the bulgur to the pan, add some water. I simmered everything together for about 10 minutes under the lid. The bulgur turned out golden brown, juicy, rich in vegetable juices! This is delicious! For a side dish at the most. Thanks for the recipe!
