Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 5 day 10 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make blackcurrant liqueur? Prepare the products according to the list. Instead of mint, you can use lemon balm. Currants can be used both fresh and frozen. If you have a frozen one, defrost it in advance. Wash the lemon, pour over boiling water, and dry.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash and sort the blackcurrants, especially if they are fresh, just picked or purchased. Remove all plant debris: twigs, leaves. Place the berries in a suitable bowl and mash them with a masher until pureed. If you want it faster, use a blender. Just keep in mind that you shouldn’t puree it too much, otherwise it will be difficult for you to strain the finished drink later.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Zest the lemon and add to the chopped currants. The zest must be cut off very carefully so as not to catch too much of the white pulp, as it is bitter and can ruin the entire drink.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add sugar to the berry mixture. Please note that the amount of sugar can be adjusted up or down, depending on how sour or sweet your berry is. It also depends on what kind of sweetness you prefer.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Transfer the currants into the bottle in which you plan to infuse the liqueur. All that remains is to pour vodka over everything and shake the drink so that the sugar dissolves.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

To add freshness to the future drink, I added a few fresh mint leaves. So that it releases all its aroma, lightly mash the mint leaves with your hands. Close the bottle with a lid and leave in a dark place for a period of 5 to 20 days. Then filter the liqueur through several layers of gauze, and it is ready to drink!

Thanks for the recipe, very easy and understandable. I already tried to cook according to this recipe, but I didn’t finish one thing - I didn’t hold the liqueur enough, I opened it after a month and a half, naturally the result was completely different. Now I will be guided by this recipe, I really love this delicacy. Blackcurrant liqueur is good because, in addition to its incredible taste and aroma, it has an amazing color and looks beautiful in a glass.

I didn't have enough sugar in this recipe. But everyone close to me liked the taste. The smell is top ten. I first crushed the mint leaves in a mortar for a better smell and everything was felt. The color is gorgeous, dense.
