    Wash the meat, be sure to dry it with a paper towel, otherwise excess moisture will not allow it to fry - it will stew. Cut into small pieces.

    Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.

    Heat vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed frying pan over medium heat. Add the beef and fry, stirring, until golden brown.

I had a piece of beef and decided to make beef goulash just like in the USSR, like in a Soviet canteen. I cut the meat into medium pieces, fried it in a frying pan, added onion, cut into medium pieces and fried it together. Added hot water, tomato paste, salt, pepper and simmered together for about 1 hour. Then I added flour diluted with water and simmered for another 15 minutes.
