    How to bake mackerel with lemon in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any mayonnaise, I have homemade one. I took 2 medium-sized mackerel. If your fish is frozen, defrost it in advance. Wash and dry the greens. Wash the lemon and pour boiling water over it.

    It’s good if your fish is defrosted to a slight hardness - this makes it easier to work with. Gut the mackerel, cut off its head, tail and fins. Rinse well to remove black films and dry with a paper towel.

    Cut the peeled garlic cloves into petals and coarsely wash the dill. Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice from one half. Cut the other half into thin slices. Then cut each one in half.

    Pour squeezed lemon juice over the inside of the fish, add salt and pepper, and place garlic slices and chopped dill in the belly. I also had onion sprouts, I also added them to the filling. You don't have to do this.

Lubricate the fish with mayonnaise and place in a heated oven (170-200 degrees, then after 20 minutes I usually reduce the temperature) for 30-45 minutes. I was leafing through recipes with the thought “what to cook?” And I saw a recipe for baked mackerel with lemon in the oven, and decided to cook it. I decided to bake it with the tail and head, so that more juiciness would remain in the fish. I didn’t use mayonnaise, I used only dry spices, salt, pepper, bay leaf, which adds piquancy to the fish, and lemon. Baked in the sleeve, even the smallest member of the family appreciated this mackerel.
