Applesauce without sugar
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make applesauce without sugar for the winter at home? Very simple! Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can omit adding cinnamon if you wish. You will learn all the subtleties of preparing winter preparations by reading the article on this topic. There is a link to it at the end of the recipe.
STEP 2

Choose apples without scratches or dents. Wash the apples under running water and cut in half. Using a sharp knife, remove the seed pods and stalks. And then cut the halves in half again. This way the apples will be ready faster. You don’t have to cut the skin off homemade apples, as they contain a lot of healthy fiber. But if the apples are purchased and covered with wax, I recommend cutting off the peel.
STEP 3

After peeling the apples, immediately begin heat treatment, otherwise they will have time to darken. Place the apples in a suitable sized saucepan and fill with water. I took a deep steel ladle. Over medium heat, bring the apples to a boil and simmer for about fifteen minutes with the lid closed. The article at the end of this recipe will help you decide on the choice of pan.
STEP 4

Cooking times may vary. Check readiness by piercing with a knife. If the apples are soft, then it’s time to remove from the heat. Stir the apples periodically, checking to see if the water has boiled away. If yes, just add more. Wash the jars with a brush and baking soda and sterilize. Wash the lids, pour boiling water over them and leave for now. An article on this topic will help you choose a sterilization method. Link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 5

When the apples are ready, transfer them to a bowl suitable for use with an immersion blender (the attachment may scratch the pan). I, at my own peril and risk, will work directly in the ladle. And immediately, without waiting for it to cool, thoroughly chop the apples into a homogeneous puree. Be careful not to get burned! Halfway through mixing, add cinnamon to taste and continue whisking. This way the spice will be better distributed in the puree.
STEP 6

Place the still hot puree into the prepared jars and roll up the lids. Turn the jars upside down and wrap them, for example, in a towel. The jars should cool completely at room temperature. Then store them in a cool place.
