Apple manna with kefir

Golden manna with apples is a decoration for any table! Mannik is a fairly satisfying type of baking. I ate a piece and was full! Therefore, baking is great for breakfast - it is much tastier than ordinary semolina porridge. And if you add fruits, for example, apples, to the manna, it will turn out simply incredibly tasty.

Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 1 hr 40 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare the ingredients listed in the recipe. Remove butter, eggs and kefir from the refrigerator in advance. The oil should have time to soften, and the kefir and eggs should warm up to room temperature.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour semolina into a bowl. Pour in kefir and leave at room temperature for 35 minutes to allow the cereal to swell.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In a separate container, mix soft butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Stir thoroughly with a whisk or mixer until the sugar crystals are completely dissolved. Sugar can be replaced with a sweetener that is not susceptible to heat treatment. Instead of vanilla sugar, you can use vanillin (at the tip of a knife). It is important to be careful with its dosage, since if you overdo it with vanillin, the taste of the baked goods will be bitter.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

    Add eggs. Stir until smooth.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour the kefir-semolina mixture into the egg-oil mixture and stir until smooth. Add baking powder to the dough and mix again. You can replace baking powder with baking soda (1 teaspoon) quenched with 9% table vinegar or apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon)

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Prepare the filling. Which apples are best? Take green sweet and sour fruits. Wash them and dry with paper towels. Cut into small pieces. 2 apples were enough for me, since one was quite large, and the shape I used was not tall.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Fold the apple squares into the batter. Stir.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Line an ovenproof baking dish with high sides with oiled parchment paper and lightly grease it with vegetable oil with a high smoking point. Pour out the dough. Level the surface. Do not use a springform pan as the batter will leak out. It is not necessary to lubricate the silicone container with oil; the baked goods will not burn in it.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees in advance. Bake the manna for about 40 minutes. Please note that your baking time and temperature may be different, since everyone’s technique is different. Check readiness with a wooden toothpick. Pierce the cake; if a toothpick comes out dry, the cake is ready. Remove the pan from the oven, let the semolina cool slightly, then transfer to a flat plate.

Maria, good afternoon, kefir, as I understand it, 250 ml. I’ve prepared this wonderful manna more than once, though it’s been a long time, but I don’t remember how I took it. Thank you!!!

I made manna with apples again today according to Maria’s recipe. This is one of our family's favorite pies! It is prepared quickly, from simple ingredients, and it turns out VERY tasty. Manna always comes out tender, airy, aromatic, and juicy squares of apples complement the manna very well. It was from this recipe that my trust in the site bestrecipes24.com arose. After all, having made not very successful pies a couple of times according to old recipes, where it was necessary to adjust the amount of flour, and I did not have enough experience and knowledge, I thought I would not visit this site again. After this manna, having received the highest ratings from home, I wanted to try another simple recipe. And now I’ve been trying this for the third year now))) Maria, thank you very much for this wonderful recipe. I recommend to everyone!!! This is how my manna turned out today)))

Good day. I followed your recipe exactly. I also kept it in the oven for 40 minutes. What came out was amazingly delicious manna. Moderately sweet. Of course it's not as light as feathers (but it shouldn't be). But not heavy, easy to separate. It turned out very tasty. A solid five and thank you very much for a truly good recipe.
