  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make jam with apples and lemon? Prepare all ingredients. You can take any apples, sour or sweet, soft or hard. Wash all fruits well and dry.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Peel the apples.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the apples into slices and remove the core, seeds and tails. You can chop the fruit even smaller if you wish.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the chopped apples in a wide bowl, sprinkle with sugar and shake well so that each slice is coated with sugar. Cover the basin with a towel or lid and leave for two days in a dark and cool place. During this time, periodically check the apples and stir them. We want them to produce plenty of juice. If this happened before two days, proceed to the next step.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

After two days, my apples gave juice and darkened, this is normal.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Grate the zest from a washed lemon using a fine grater. We need 1 tablespoon of zest.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Also grate the zest from a washed orange. You will need 2 tablespoons.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the bowl of apples on the stove and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring and skimming if necessary.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

5 minutes before the end of cooking, add lemon and orange zest to the jam and stir.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Still hot jam can be rolled into jars. To do this, first sterilize the jars in any way convenient for you. Boil the lids in water for about 7-10 minutes.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

This apple jam is ideal both as a filling for pies and as an addition to tea.

I'm interested in your recipe. Questions arose: where is it stored? And is it possible to do without lemon zest? Allergic to lemon. I liked that there is little sugar and little heat treatment. Thank you

Everything seems very tasty, especially the lemon zest instead of lemon juice and the orange zest. But there are such doubts...For 3 kg. apples, 2 cups of sugar, very little. For those who don’t like sugar, they might like it, but they add a lot of sugar not out of love for sugar, but out of necessity... The first thing is shelf life. Then, isn’t 2 days too long to let out the juice...after all, after letting out the juice for a long time (I tried it), an unnecessary aftertaste appears. but orange and lemon...you can try this.

Milada, Maslova Tatyana, the filling for pancakes will be wonderful, aromatic, moderately sweet. And I would happily eat it with a spoon straight from the jar. Thank you very much for the recipe!<br />

Like many people, I love apple jam, and in general everything related to apples. Thank you for the interesting recipe!.....BUT.....doubt crept in: will two glasses of sand be able to stick to the slices of three kilograms of apples? I ask because I just took 1 kg per 200 g of sand and the slices were not sprinkled too much. In addition, I will adjust this recipe for one kg of apples and there will be very little sand. Thanks again for the delicious recipe!
