The easiest way to prepare stewed cabbage with sausages is this.

First, everything is cut: onion - into cubes, cabbage - into strips.

Place the onion in a large saucepan and fry it in oil.

Then comes the cabbage, mixed. Fry for 15 minutes, stirring. Water is added so that the vegetables do not burn and the dish does not turn out too dry.

Tomato paste with spices is added.

Separately, sausages cut into medallions are fried on both sides. The more ruddy they end up, the better.

Everything is mixed and infused under the lid for 15 minutes.

It is permissible not to fry sausages, but to boil them or add them directly to the cabbage in their raw form. In all three cases you will get a slightly different taste. Needless to say, the types of sausages also matter: the dish will come out with a slight smoke if you take smoked and semi-smoked ones. However, liquid smoke easily copes with this task.

The dish is served hot, although it is quite edible when cold and is loved by many. Also chilled, it can be added as a filling to yeast, shortbread and puff pastries and pies.

Cabbage can be fresh or salted. If you take sauerkraut, you need to cook it longer. And it’s better to simmer separately before adding to the onion.
