  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake yeast pies with dry yeast? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Pour a glass of warm milk and a glass of warm water into a bowl. Add sugar, a tablespoon of wheat flour. Stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves. Add dry yeast and stir again to disperse the yeast.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Yeast loves a warm and sweet environment, so if the products are good and everything is done correctly, the yeast should be activated. To do this, place the bowl with the yeast mixture in a warm place for 15 minutes; there is no need to cover the bowl with anything. A foam should form on the surface of the mixture.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour vegetable oil, salt into the bowl with the yeast mixture and mix everything.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add sifted wheat flour in parts. Flour must be sifted to enrich it with oxygen, this helps to obtain fluffy dough and soft, tasty baked goods. You need to add flour in parts so that the dough does not turn out too liquid or, on the contrary, too tight.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Each time after adding flour, stir the dough with a wooden spatula. When the dough becomes difficult to knead with a spatula, turn it out onto a floured work surface and continue kneading.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The dough should be smooth and elastic, practically not sticking to your hands. Place the dough back into the bowl, cover the top of the bowl with cling film and place in a warm place for about 40 minutes, then punch it down. The yeast dough for pies with dry yeast is ready, you can proceed to preparing the pies themselves.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

While the dough is resting, prepare the filling. I used minced meat as the filling. You can make your own minced meat from fresh meat or purchase ready-made ones. Add finely chopped onions, salt and ground black pepper to taste to a bowl with minced meat and stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a little cold water. Knead the minced meat until it becomes homogeneous in consistency. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Divide the finished dough into 15 pieces. Roll each piece into a small flat cake. Place some minced meat in the center of each cake and seal the edges of the dough, thus forming pies.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the pies on a greased baking sheet and leave in a warm place for about 15 minutes to proof. Brush the pies on top with a beaten chicken egg and place in the oven for 30-35 minutes at 180C. The exact time depends on the power of your oven. Remove the finished pies from the oven, remove them from the baking sheet and serve with tea, coffee or cocoa. Enjoy your tea!

The dough rose before our eyes, successful. It didn’t stick to your hands much, I only sprinkled it lightly with flour when rolling it out. It combined well into a pie. Yeast pies made with dry yeast are tasty and beautiful to look at.
