  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a whole chicken in the oven in foil in mustard? First, prepare all the necessary ingredients for the marinade. Take a spacious large container. It should fit a chicken. Place sour cream, mustard and soy sauce into the selected container.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Add vegetable oil, salt and dried basil.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

    Mix everything until smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Take the chicken carcass and rinse it under running, cold water. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel or paper napkins. Coat the chicken completely with the marinade on all sides. Cover the bowl with a lid or cover with cling film and leave the chicken to marinate for several hours. I usually marinate the chicken in the morning in order to cook it in the oven for dinner. Half an hour before cooking, turn the oven on to 200 degrees.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Before baking, prepare a pan of the required size and cover it with foil. Read about all the nuances of working with aluminum foil in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Place the marinated chicken in the pan and pour the remaining marinade over it. Cover the chicken with another sheet of foil and secure the foil around the edges. Place the chicken in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 1 hour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

After an hour, remove the top sheet of foil from the chicken and place it back in the oven for another 30 minutes to brown the top of the chicken while it is open. The exact time depends on the size of the chicken and your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

In 30-40 the chicken will become rosy and appetizing. Transfer it to a plate and serve. Do not pour out the sauce that will be in the mold. Pour it into a gravy boat and serve along with the chicken. It is very tasty! Bon appetit!

Whole chicken in the oven with mustard is a great option for dinner! Tasty, juicy, and you can also bake potatoes or vegetables for a side dish along with the chicken. I defrosted the chicken and mixed everything for the marinade, coated the chicken and marinated for about an hour. Placed it on foil and baked for about an hour. I cut into a leg to check if the chicken was cooked through. The juice was clear and not red, which meant it was ready. The chicken turned out very flavorful and had a crispy crust.

I wanted to fry chicken. Definitely the whole thing. I found a recipe here for a whole chicken in the oven in mustard and decided to cook it that way. I did everything strictly according to the recipe. In a bowl, mix sour cream, mustard, soy sauce, butter, salt and dried basil. The result was the same mixture as in the recipe; I coated the whole chicken with it and placed it on foil on a baking sheet. I wrapped the foil around the sides and closed the top with a separate piece, so that later it would be easier to open for browning. I left it to marinate for a couple of hours and then put it in the oven over medium heat. An hour after baking, I removed the top sheet of foil and left it to brown for half an hour. The finished chicken turned out juicy, aromatic, spicy due to the basil, and had a very golden brown crust. By the way, I rarely got such a golden brown crust, but now thanks to this recipe I know how to achieve it easily. I prepared pasta and salad as a side dish for the chicken. It turned out to be a very filling dinner. Thanks to the author for such a good recipe.
