Turtle salad with chicken, walnuts and apples

Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make Turtle salad? First, prepare everything you need for our salad. Boil the chicken fillet in lightly salted water (if you decide to use it). Boil the eggs hard and cool them. Choose apples to your taste, almost any will go here: sweet, sweet and sour.
STEP 2
Cut the chicken fillet (boiled, fried or smoked) into small cubes.
STEP 3
Peel three of the four eggs. Set one aside for now. Separate the whites and yolks. Grate them separately on a fine grater.
STEP 4
Grate cheese and fresh peeled apples.
STEP 5
Peel, chop and pour boiling water over the onions to remove unnecessary bitterness.
STEP 6
Rinse the onion in cold water and drain all the liquid from it. Dry the onions.
STEP 7
Place the walnuts in a plastic bag, place them on a board and crush them using a rolling pin.
STEP 8
You can simply chop them with a knife until they become coarse crumbs.
STEP 9
Start laying the salad on a wide flat dish. The first layer should be grated egg whites.
STEP 10
Place chicken fillet on top of the whites.
STEP 11
Brush the chicken layer with mayonnaise.
STEP 12
Place onions on top.
STEP 13
Sprinkle with grated apples.
STEP 14
Lubricate the apple layer with mayonnaise.
STEP 15
Sprinkle with grated cheese, covering the entire surface of the salad and giving it a “turtle” shape. I do it with my hands.
STEP 16
Sprinkle the cheese with yolks and brush with mayonnaise.
STEP 17
Sprinkle walnuts over the salad to imitate a turtle shell.
STEP 18
Decorate the salad in your own way.
STEP 19
Remember that we have one more whole egg left? I added a turtle head from an egg, peppercorns and a piece of red skinned apple.
STEP 20
For the legs, take walnut halves. Using mayonnaise, draw a mesh on the “shell” of the turtle and decorate with onion rings on top.
STEP 21
Our delicious salad is ready.
