Turkey stew in a slow cooker
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
I had turkey leg steak, I just cut it into small pieces.
STEP 2
If you know that children will not eat the turkey stew, season it with ground pepper and spices. Don't forget to add salt to taste. Leave to marinate.
STEP 3
In the meantime, we’ll take care of the vegetables that will participate in the stewing. Chop the onion randomly, maybe into small pieces (then the gravy will be thicker and the onion will not be visible).
STEP 4
Carrots can be grated on a coarse grater. Or you can cut it so that a pleasant bright accent appears in the dish.
STEP 5
If you are cooking with frying, pour just a little oil into the bottom of the bowl and add the onions and carrots here. Fry for a quarter of an hour in the “fry” mode. I did it differently - I put carrots and onions in the oil and cooked under the lid in the “baking” mode for 10 minutes. Don't forget to stir with a spatula!
STEP 6
To make the finished dish have a more complete taste, you can fry the meat. This is done simply - select vegetables from the bowl and fry the meat separately, then combine everything and continue further. Or fry everything together. But I didn’t fry it, so I just put pieces of turkey meat with the onions and carrots and cooked for 10 minutes under the lid in the “baking” mode.
STEP 7
Afterwards, you can set the “stew” mode for an hour and a half, add bay leaves, crushed and chopped garlic, pour in water (I boiled it) and sour cream. The recipe says 0.5 cups of water, but this is conditional - the volume of the bowl of your multicooker may be different, so look at the situation so that the meat is stewed and there is more gravy. The same goes for sour cream - you can put more of it and then add tomato juice or tomato paste to add flavor to the meat and
STEP 8
As soon as the program reports the end of the process, serve the stewed turkey hot or leave it on the “warm” mode. If the meat comes with a side dish, pour gravy over it. You can serve it separately like this, just the meat.
