STEP 1

How to make sweet croutons from a loaf with an egg in a frying pan? Prepare your food. Take white bread - loaf, wheat, toast. Very tasty croutons are made from rich bread, such as Easter cake or sweet buns. Depending on the type of bread you choose, adjust the amount of sugar. Sometimes I don’t add it at all, but sprinkle the finished croutons with powdered sugar.
STEP 2

Wash the egg well. Beat it into a bowl deep enough to fit a piece of bread. Add sugar and a little salt. It is needed to balance the taste. Beat the egg with a fork or whisk until the sugar dissolves. Then pour in the milk and stir again until smooth. You can increase the amount of milk if you have a small egg.
STEP 3

Place a frying pan over medium heat and pour vegetable oil into it. Warm it up for a few minutes. You can also use butter, but I advise you to still add a little vegetable oil to it, then the butter will not burn when frying. Dip the bread slices on both sides into the egg-milk mixture. Place them in the pan. Make the fire small.
STEP 4

You can even keep the bread in the filling for a little while, then the croutons will be even softer. Just do this in advance to avoid overheating the oil.
STEP 5

When one side is browned, turn the croutons over to the other side. I have a non-stick frying pan, so I had no problem turning it over. If you have a regular one, then heat the oil well before adding the bread, then the croutons will turn over easily. Fry them until golden brown on the second side. Remove the finished croutons to a plate and serve.
STEP 6

When serving, you can add berries, pieces of fruit and whipped cream to them. You can sprinkle them with powder or pour jam on them, but then do not put sugar in the milk mixture. Croutons are especially tasty when warm. Bon appetit!
