    STEP 1

How to make jam without sugar? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. In principle, we only need gooseberries and the appropriate dishes: a saucepan with a thick bottom. Wash the jars with soda and place upside down in the oven. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees, sterilize 0.5 liter jars for 10 minutes. Wash the lids and boil. Wash the gooseberries well, remove the tassels and stems.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

We will make sugar-free winter jam by boiling it, without sugar or any other additives. Although you can add lemon or orange, it will add a nice citrus note to the jam. Pour water into a saucepan and line the bottom with a cotton towel. Fill glass jars with gooseberries up to the height of the hangers of the jars. The water in the pan should reach up to the hangers of the jars so that the water does not pour into the jars of berries when boiling.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Turn on the heat, bring the water to a boil, and cook over high heat for about 30 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour. The berries will release juice and boil down.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

As the berries boil and settle, transfer them to one jar and add a fresh batch of berries to the others. Carefully remove the first jar of prepared jam from the pan and cover with a sterilized lid. Do the same with the other jars when the jam is cooked. It is better to take small jars so that after opening you can quickly use the jam.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Turn the jars upside down, wrap them in a towel and leave them to cool overnight at room temperature. Then store the jam in the refrigerator or other cool place. Delicious, healthy jam without sugar at home is ready. It is stored for a long time and turns out very tasty and aromatic, which will not allow gooseberry jam to stagnate in the pantry. Bon appetit!

I don’t know what the jam will taste like... it’s definitely healthy. I like gooseberry jam with sugar.

Please tell me, if you boil the berries not in jars, but in one container for making jam and then pour the finished mixture, will anything change? What’s so great about cooking right away in jars is not very clear.

Clearly, I didn’t have to cook without sugar, I’ll keep that in mind.

Tell me please. What does this jam taste like? Will it appeal to everyone, or only those on a diet?

I made it from sweet plums. It turned out to be a bomb. I didn't wait for winter. I already tried it. When you close it, it turns out very sour. And when it had already stood in the jar and cooled down, it tasted good. Like a rich compote, only without sugar and not sour.
