Stuffed cabbage rolls with cabbage and minced meat in the oven

STEP 1

How to make cabbage rolls in the oven? Prepare the following ingredients. It is better to take homemade, mixed minced meat. It’s better to choose the meat ratio according to your taste; I used minced pork/chicken. Use young cabbage with a firm fork; for other cabbage, the baking time will have to be increased. I took steamed round grain rice. Prepare an ovenproof dish for use in the oven.

Pour boiling water over the selected rice. Once the water has cooled, rinse the rice under running water.
STEP 3

Boil water in a saucepan and immerse the whole cabbage in it. After 3 minutes, turn the cabbage over. Then turn off the heat, but leave the cabbage in the water.
STEP 4

In a deep bowl, mix the selected minced meat, washed rice and chopped onions. Grated onion will make the minced meat juicier and the onion pieces will not be too noticeable. Add salt to taste and ground black pepper, mix the minced meat evenly.
STEP 5

Remove the cabbage from the water and separate it into leaves by cutting them with a knife from the base. If the leaves are hard and break when separated from the fork, then they should be kept in boiling water a little longer.

The leaves have a rough and rigid base. It can be cut along with part of the soft leaf

Place minced meat on the edge of each sheet and fold the sheet with minced meat into an envelope. Excess sheets can be cut off with a knife.
STEP 8

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the cabbage rolls on each side over medium heat until golden brown. To reduce the calorie content of the dish and the cooking time, you can skip this step. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
STEP 9

Place the fried cabbage rolls in a single layer in the selected baking dish.
STEP 10

In a deep bowl, mix tomato paste, sour cream and water, add a pinch of salt and mix thoroughly. Pour this sauce over the cabbage rolls in the mold.
STEP 11

Cover the form with cabbage rolls with foil and place in a preheated oven for 40 - 50 minutes. After 30 - 40 minutes of baking, remove the foil from the pan and bake without it.
STEP 12

Serve the finished cabbage rolls hot as a separate dish. But you can offer potato dishes with them. Be sure to offer sour cream with cabbage rolls.
