We really love stewed cabbage with carrots and onions as a side dish or just like that. After all, it is delicious both hot and cold. As the author recommends, I cut the cabbage into thin strips and the onion into half rings. But I took frozen carrots. I didn’t thaw it first, because extinguishing requires water). I immediately added salt so that the cabbage settled and cooked these vegetables under the lid for about 20 minutes. Then I added tomato paste, lemon juice, sugar, paprika, dried dill and bay leaves. This whole aromatic mixture was simmered for another half an hour under the lid until the cabbage was soft. The dish seems simple, but so tasty! The addition of sugar and lemon juice gave the cabbage a somewhat “fermented” taste. Stewed cabbage according to this recipe can be safely used for baking pies and pies with any suitable dough.
