I have a steamer, which I use quite often, but I cook mainly meat and fish dishes there. Vegetables, once cooked in it, seemed bland and tasteless to me. When I came across this steamed potato recipe, I realized a trick that allowed me to cook delicious potatoes in my own steamer. All you had to do was add a spoonful of salt to the water! This has radically changed my attitude towards steamed vegetables, now I will not neglect such a healthy and, as it turns out, delicious dish! Thank you!

Today I served herring for lunch, and steamed potatoes to go with it. I cooked it in a slow cooker, it’s very convenient. I came across a successful potato, tasty and boiled in itself. Not every variety is suitable for cooking! I peeled the potatoes, washed them again and cut them into halves. I greased the multicooker basket with vegetable oil and placed the potato halves. Lightly sprinkled sea salt on top. I poured water into the bowl, but took a glass more just in case. As a result, there was a little water left at the bottom. In addition to salt, I added a couple of bay leaves for flavor. I cooked on the “steam” mode for 40 minutes, taking into account the time to heat up the water. I poured hot, but not boiling water. During this time, the potatoes became completely ready. I didn’t even expect that the potatoes would turn out so tasty and aromatic! Adding butter transformed it. The potatoes are tender, creamy, delicious! Just the same with green onions!

I haven’t eaten potatoes for several months now, but here are steamed potatoes with butter and herbs. How tempting. I want it, I really don’t have words for it)) I’ll have to pamper myself. After all, when you can’t, but really want to, then you can

Lena, why don’t we eat potatoes? There are so many useful things in it. True, my daughter also often refuses, and not only from potatoes... She is losing weight on me. But I can’t live without potatoes. I would eat it every day, and the young one with butter and dill 3 times a day!

Yes, young potatoes are very tasty, I’ve never tried steamed ones, I really liked the idea, and why not cook them, it’s not difficult. There’s still a lot of old in the cellar, but it’s worth trying young ones, we immediately forget about the old ones and go to the market for new ones !I suggest that when you cook potatoes, in any way, add a clove of garlic to the water, you will immediately feel a pleasant smell and the aroma from the potatoes will be different - more pronounced and bright, try it.

Interesting suggestion, Shura, I’ve never tried it. I’ll definitely take your advice if the opportunity arises. But we don’t have a cellar, unfortunately, and we don’t have old potatoes either; the store only sells young ones. It’s true that she’s not that young anymore.
