Of course, the gravy will be tastier in broth, and from cooking any type of meat. But if this is not possible, then you can simply prepare the gravy with water.

    Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Then finely chop the peeled onion.

    To prepare the gravy, heat a frying pan and place a piece of butter on it. Once the butter has melted, add the chopped onion. Mix everything. Fry the onion in butter for 2-3 minutes. Don't forget to stir so the onion doesn't start to burn. During frying, the onion will become softer.

    Sprinkle flour over the onions. Stir and fry together with the flour for a couple more minutes until the flour browns a little.

Today I am preparing a sauce from sour cream with flour and onions. I know that the recipe is a win-win, our family loves gravies and sauces for dishes, so I increased the number of ingredients. I had ready-made chilled broth, so I set it to boil - chopped and fried the onion with flour, added the boiled broth and boiled it all together until the onion softened. Next, sour cream went into the saucepan. To taste, I added a little more salt and a little sugar; the only spices were paprika and a mixture of peppers. Add grated garlic and herbs a minute before removing from heat. Simple, fast and very tasty!!! Thank you!
