Snack lavash rolls

When you're short on time, prepare this simple appetizer! Your guests will appreciate it! I would like to share with young wives how you can work with one chicken to feed a family of four not at once, but much more. I already know what I will cook tomorrow, so late this evening I take the frozen chicken out of the refrigerator and put it on the balcony (so that it thaws overnight). So, in the morning I wash the chicken well and cut it into the pieces I need. I will need the legs for an appetizer with pita bread for second breakfast, and the breast will be used to prepare chicken marinated with garlic and lemon for dinner, the rest of the parts will be wrapped in a bag and put back in the refrigerator (tomorrow I will make soup or some kind of salad from them).

Anait, very tasty rolls! But you can use pancakes as a base, not lavash, it should also turn out delicious?? It’s just that lavash rarely appears in our stores, but it’s always possible to bake homemade pancakes)

Of course, Irisha, you can also use pancakes, which is what I did today, and I had mushrooms and lentils as filling. And I cook with lavash when I don’t have ready-made pancakes on hand or when I’m too lazy to cook them. And on New Year’s Eve it happened that a belated unwanted guest would come, so I had to get out of it with the help of lavash. And I also had a case when there was fried hake in the house, so I spread mayonnaise on the pita bread, put tarragon and fried it. In general, Irisha, you surprised me, are there really such places in the world where the Armenian foot has not visited with its pita bread.

Anahit, you are such a zealous housewife, an example for beginners, if the family is small, then I also divide the chicken into several parts at once, I also like to immediately separate the fillet from the breast and prepare schnitzel from it, but otherwise everything is the same as yours. As for Lavash snacks, then, Irisha, in every region and settlement, preference is given to their usual tastes. for me, pancakes are also closer, and Anahit, and this is understandable, lavash itself is closer and dearer, and we are already accustomed to this wonderful bread, and the snack is very tasty and filling! Now on all our streets they sell such, in general, street trading is an advertising and profitable business, many people are not looking for interesting recipes, but here they come into their hands, just have time to buy)))

A wonderful appetizer, I’m adding it to my cookbook (and to my arsenal of “wraps,” as our family for some reason calls such lavash tubes; we love them very much). Anait, is there, by any chance, any recipe for lavash to bake outside of a special oven? After all, Irisha is our master baker, she would probably have mastered it!

Magnago, for these tubes you don’t need any special oven; we fry them in a cast iron (or any) frying pan. In general, lavash is the kind of bread on which you can spread any of your favorite foods. Since ancient times, it has been used in our country under the name durum (or burum): this is a sandwich with cheese, the best goat or lamb, with the addition of a large amount of greens (green onions, cilantro). Durum, incomparable in taste, is obtained by spreading lavash with butter, placing in hard-boiled chicken eggs (preferably homemade) and fresh tarragon (the main emphasis is on tarragon), green onions, cilantro. Nowadays, snacks with lavash in the form of rolls are very fashionable: first wrap a large tube with filling, then it is cut into small rolls.

Yes, I, Anahit, was interested in whether thin lavash itself could be made at home (well, for those who are unlucky and the ARMENIAN HUMANITARIAN LANDING has not yet reached the regions of their residence). And can you imagine, I found such a recipe in our database!!! Irish, maybe you'd like to try it? https://bestrecipes24.com/cooking/5022-lavash-tonkii You know, it seems to me that Anait doesn’t care, she ate lavash and pancakes, and all this is familiar to her. And for me, lavash at one time was such a delightful culinary discovery that it seems to me that confusing it with pancakes is almost gastronomic sacrilege! When lavash had just appeared in our city, we simply ordered it as an independent snack with red wine with two cups of tkemal sauce (I liked green more). Mmmm!... Memories of my student youth!... It was amazing! I absolutely cannot imagine pancakes in such a role. So, Irish, I think if you are interested in how it “sounds in the original”, it makes sense to try making lavashik - maybe your family will also fall in love with it, like me?...

Magnago, I completely agree with you, there is no comparison between pita bread and pancakes. I really love pancakes and specifically fried pancakes with meat and pita bread in all variations. I understand that this bread is rare among you, but I mean its convenience for those to whom it is available. After all, to make pancakes you need to have at least a glass of milk, eggs, flour, and hunting at home. And in the case of lavash (if, of course, you have it at home or in a nearby store), you can... if anything... get out quickly and tasty. I wish that you only encounter tasty and fresh lavash. And it’s also good that you found recipe for making lavash at home, because... I didn’t cook and I just didn’t think about it.
