How to make a side dish from boiled potatoes? Prepare the necessary ingredients. The potatoes for this dish must be young. Old and sprouted potatoes are not suitable due to their taste. Choose medium or large potatoes. Try to choose potatoes of the same size.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel and wash the potatoes. It is better to place peeled potatoes in cold water to prevent them from darkening. Make sure that it does not remain in it for very long, as this will cause the potato flesh to become coarser and lose some starch. If desired, the potatoes can be cut into cubes or slices. I cooked it whole.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Wash the dill and parsley, dry and finely chop. Divide the chopped greens into 2 parts: one part will be cooked with potatoes, the other will be used to top the finished dish. It is not necessary to add greens when cooking, it is optional.

And if the potatoes are crumbly varieties, then it is better to add not much vinegar at all.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

When the water boils again, reduce the heat. Cook the potatoes covered for 15-20 minutes until tender. The finished potatoes should be easily pierced with a knife. At the end of cooking, salt the potatoes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Drain the water from the pan. Add a piece of butter to the potatoes. Butter can be replaced with sunflower oil. Place the potatoes on plates and sprinkle with the remaining herbs.

Boiled potatoes as a side dish for cutlets. The boiling with the addition of dill and bay leaf became unusual. I took a small bay leaf because I was afraid that the potatoes would taste bitter. I didn’t have fresh dill, I used dried. Fresh, of course, would be preferable. Nevertheless, the potatoes turned out more tasty and aromatic than if they were simply boiled in water. Butter always goes well with potatoes in any form; it gives a delicate creamy taste. The side dish was a hit) Everyone was delighted. I liked it simply with homemade ketchup. Previously, I didn’t really like boiled potatoes precisely because of the taste. Now there will be no problems with this. I think you can add something else for flavoring, such as onion, garlic, parsley. Thank you for the idea!

Today I prepared a side dish of boiled potatoes for the chicken. This is a simple yet delicious and nutritious dish that I love and often remember with warmth and nostalgia. As the author of the recipe noted, this dish takes us back to childhood. I have homemade potatoes, I boil them for 20 minutes from the moment they boil. I didn’t add any greens during cooking; I decided to sprinkle it on the finished dish. But adding a bay leaf was a real discovery for me. The potatoes turned out incredibly tasty and aromatic. Devoured with pleasure
