How to make gravy with meat and potatoes? Prepare the necessary ingredients.

We cut the meat. In my case, this is beef, but pork will also work, just the cooking time will need to be reduced a little

Now roll the meat in flour. This stage is very important - firstly, it will help us thicken the sauce later, and secondly, when frying the meat, it will retain all the juice inside

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan
STEP 5
Place meat in hot oil in one layer
STEP 6
Fry until golden brown
STEP 7
While the meat is frying, finely chop the onion and crush the garlic with the flat side of a knife. I don't use carrots in this dish, but you can add them if you wish.

Place the fried meat in a saucepan, fill it with water and put it on the fire.
STEP 9
Place the garlic in the oil in which the meat was fried, wait 1-2 minutes for it to release its aroma and remove it from the frying pan.

Place the onion in aromatic oil and fry until golden brown.
STEP 11
Place the fried onions in a saucepan with the meat and simmer over low heat for 1.5 hours (the meat must be completely cooked, so the time may vary depending on the meat)

After about 30 minutes I added some Provençal herbs, you can take your favorite spices

When our meat sauce is almost ready, let's start with the potatoes - peel them, wash them and chop them coarsely

Place potatoes in meat sauce

Pass the remaining garlic clove through a press
STEP 16
Add tomato juice (I use homemade juice), you can replace 2 tablespoons. l. tomato paste or tomatoes in season
