STEP 1

How to bake salmon steak in cream in the oven? Prepare your food. Pay special attention to the choice of fish. Chilled fish is a priority; it is much healthier than frozen fish. But if you only have frozen salmon, then you need to defrost it properly. Read more about this in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Cream can be taken with any fat content from 10 to 30%. In the absence of cream, you can even use regular milk. Turn on the oven at 190C
STEP 2

Wash the fish well and dry with paper towels. This could be salmon steak or fillet. Salmon does not contain a large number of small bones, so the bones do not need to be removed.
STEP 3

Salt the fish. I use regular sea salt, but it can also be salt with different additives: for example, Adyghe.
STEP 4

Pepper the fish. In my opinion, ground white pepper is excellent for fish, but you can use black allspice and red pepper. Also at this stage, you can add your favorite herbs and seasonings to the fish: thyme, rosemary, tarragon are great for fish dishes. A slice of lemon or a spoonful of lemon juice would also be helpful. But don’t overdo it: noble fish does not need a lot of additives.
STEP 5

Grease the heat-resistant dish in which you will cook the fish with oil. Use a mold with high sides so that the cream does not spill out during cooking. Read about how to choose a baking dish in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Place the fish in the mold.

Add a little salt and pepper to the cream. Add chopped garlic. I grate it on a fine grater. But you can chop the garlic with a knife or pass it through a press. If fresh garlic is not available, use garlic powder.
STEP 8

Pour the aromatic cream over the fish. Cook the salmon in an oven preheated to 190 degrees for about 30 minutes. During the first 15 minutes of cooking, it is better to cover the pan with foil. Then the foil can be removed for a golden brown crust or left for a more delicate taste. The exact time depends on your oven. STEP 9

Serve salmon baked in cream immediately while it is hot. Bon appetit!
