  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook rice porridge with milk in the oven in a pot? Prepare your food. It is better to use round varieties of rice, not steamed - it will boil better and will not be hard. Milk is suitable for any fat content. Choose tasty, high-quality butter, without vegetable additives. I only add salt to the porridge; you can also add sugar to taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the rice in several waters until it becomes transparent. Then pour a small amount of water over the rice and let it soak in it a little - this will make it easier for the rice to absorb the milk.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

It is recommended to keep the pots in water or with water for 15-20 minutes. This way the pots, when baked, will better reveal the taste of the food. Pour rice into pots, filling them 1/3 full.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add half the milk and cover the pots with a lid so that the porridge simmers throughout the entire volume at the same temperature. Place the pots in a cold oven. This is necessary so that the pots do not deteriorate due to a sharp change in temperature. Turn the heat up to 180 degrees. Cook the porridge for 40-45 minutes, the exact time depends on the features of your oven. Make sure that the milk does not escape.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

When all the milk has been absorbed into the cereal, remove the pots, add the remaining milk and butter, cover the pots again with lids and put them in the oven for another 10-15 minutes. Then turn off the oven, and leave the pots to simmer for about 15 minutes. Serve the finished porridge either by transferring it to a plate, or directly in the pots. Bon appetit!

My husband bought baking pots, and I decided to immediately try to cook something in them. I chose a recipe for rice porridge in the oven in a pot with milk. I made it for five servings. For this I took five pots. On the author’s advice, I kept the pots with water for ten minutes. Then I poured two tablespoons of washed rice into each pot. I poured 50 ml of milk into four pots. In one pot, I decided to make porridge with water and milk, so I added 50 ml of water to it. After 30 minutes of baking, the rice was ready. I added another 50ml of very hot milk, sugar and salt to each pot. And left it to bake for another ten minutes. Then the porridge was infused for another ten minutes in the turned off oven. The rice in the porridge in the pots was cooked very well and turned out soft. It seems that everything is the same as in the pan, but the taste from the pot is still different, somehow richer. Well, the very serving of porridge, in a pot, makes breakfast not just breakfast, but a real meal. Thanks for the recipe! The children asked me to cook all my porridge this way from now on.
