  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a pie with milk powder? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take the highest grade flour. Large, selected eggs are needed. If the eggs are small, take 5 pieces. The eggs should be at room temperature, so remove them from the refrigerator in advance.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sift flour, milk powder and baking powder into a bowl.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In another bowl, beat the eggs with a mixer until light foam appears. Then gradually add sugar, vanilla sugar and salt in small portions and continue beating until fluffy for 5 minutes. It is important not to overbeat the eggs - there should be small bubbles on the surface.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Gradually add the mixture of flour and milk powder into the beaten eggs, beating the mixture each time with a mixer at low speed.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

You should end up with a semi-thick, runny mixture.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Line a baking pan (Ø 18-20 cm) with parchment. Pour the dough into it and smooth it out. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C for 35-40 minutes until the skewer is dry. If necessary, cover the pan with foil. It is better not to open the oven for the first 30 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cool the finished powdered milk pie on a wire rack and serve, lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar and garnished with berries. If you wish, you can cut the sponge cake into cake layers and coat them with jam or cream. Bon appetit!

I really enjoy baking with baby formula. It was with this that I replaced the main ingredient when baking a pie with milk powder. This was my first time baking such a cake, so I strictly followed these proportions. The dough turned out to be very thick, probably the density of the mixture and milk powder are different. Therefore, to achieve the desired consistency, I added a little regular liquid milk to the dough. Bake in a rectangular pan for 40 minutes. The middle remained liquid for a long time, I think this cake is better baked in a round pan. But the result was simply the most delicious pie! The crumb is very tender, slightly moist, porous. And the crust is a little sticky, like toffee. The aroma of milk is pleasant, you immediately want to pour hot tea and cut off a slice of pie) Maria, thank you for the excellent recipe!
