Potato mille-feuille with jamon

A delicious recipe accessible for beginners! In winter, you even need to treat yourself to a tasty and satisfying dish. You can call it a casserole or a gratin, but I call it mille-feuille, which means “a thousand leaves.” Layers of new potatoes alternate with delicious jamon, sweet soy sauce adds a spicy note, and nutmeg imbues the dish with its subtle aroma. Overall, very tasty! I invite you to dinner!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Take a rectangular deep form (for muffins, I have a disposable one made of thick foil), put a few pieces of butter on the bottom and cover it with slices of jamon (or good meat bacon), overlapping, leaving overhanging edges. Brush with sweet soy sauce.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the potatoes into thin slices. Place a layer of potatoes on the jamon and rub a little nutmeg on it. There is no need for salt at all. Place a few pieces of butter and grated cheese on a layer of potatoes. Cover with a thin layer of jamon. Then again a layer of potatoes, etc. to the top.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cover the top layer of potatoes completely with jamon. Wrap the pan tightly with foil so that no air passes through and liquid does not evaporate during the cooking process. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes. Take out, cool slightly and serve.
