  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make a potato casserole in a frying pan without an oven quickly? Prepare the necessary products. Any sausages and vegetables are suitable for the filling. Sour cream can be replaced with mayonnaise or tomato sauce.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the pre-peeled onions and cut them as desired (in half rings, quarters or cubes).

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the ham into small cubes. Boiled or smoked sausages are also suitable.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Wash the bell pepper and dry it. Remove the stem and seeds. Chop the pepper into small pieces.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan. Over moderate heat, fry the onions while stirring until light golden brown.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add chopped bell peppers and ham to the pan with the onions and stir. Cook the filling for a few more minutes until the peppers soften and the ham pieces are lightly browned.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Any cheese is suitable for this dish - hard, semi-hard, soft, such as mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, of high quality, without milk fat substitutes and melts well.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

While the filling is being prepared, wash the pre-peeled potatoes. Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Salt the potatoes, beat in the egg, mix.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Add flour and any spices and herbs to taste. I took dried basil. Mix everything well. You may need a little less or more flour, be guided by the consistency, the mass should not be liquid.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, add potato mixture and smooth. The diameter of my frying pan is 20 cm. You can find out how to choose a frying pan and oil for frying by reading the articles, the link to them is at the end of this recipe.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Fry the potato cake until golden brown. Carefully turn over to the other side and reduce heat.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Brush the potato layer with sour cream. If desired, you can replace sour cream with natural yogurt, mayonnaise or even ketchup.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Sprinkle with a little cheese so that the filling slightly “sticks” to the potato layer of the casserole.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Spread the filling in an even layer.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Wash the tomato, dry it, cut into slices.

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

    Place chopped tomato on top.

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

Sprinkle the top of the casserole with the remaining cheese. Cover the pan with a lid and keep the casserole over low heat until the cheese melts.

  19. STEP 19

    STEP 19

Cut the potato casserole into portions and serve immediately. Bon appetit!

Potato casserole in a frying pan is a universal, hearty dish that can be served on its own or as a side dish. I prepared it according to the recipe, slightly changing the original amount of ingredients. It turned out that I took two eggs, but it took more onions. Because in principle I love this vegetable and made good layers from it. I used dry greens. After 30 minutes, I sprinkled the potatoes with grated cheese. It turned out delicious. The kids even asked for more! Thanks for the great recipe!

Instead of cheese, I brushed the surface of the potatoes with sour cream. For my taste, it turned out more tender and juicy. In general, potato casserole in a frying pan turns out no worse than in the oven. Thanks for the recipe!
