Pork stewed with onions

STEP 1

How to stew pork with onions? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Pork meat can be taken from any part of the carcass. A good option would be ham, neck or tenderloin. There is not much fat in these parts (some have none at all). Use the amount of onion to suit your taste. I like there to be a lot of it. This makes the sauce richer in flavor.
STEP 2

Rinse the pork under running water and then pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut the meat into medium-sized pieces.
STEP 3

Heat the frying pan until hot and pour a little vegetable oil on it. Add the chopped meat and fry until lightly browned.
STEP 4

While the meat is roasting, chop the onion. Peel it and rinse it in cold water. Cut the peeled onion into half rings. There is no need to cut it very finely, as during stewing it will decrease in size and boil a little.
STEP 5

Add the prepared onion to the meat and mix everything. fry the onion and meat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. The onion will develop a characteristic aroma and become softer.
STEP 6

Then pour some hot water into the pan. Add salt and spices to taste. Ground pepper and some dried herbs are suitable as spices. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the meat and onions over low heat for about 20 minutes. Adjust the amount of water to your taste, depending on how much gravy you want.
STEP 7

During stewing, some of the water will evaporate and the meat will become soft. You can stop at this stage. The meat with onions is very tasty and ready to eat. But you can thicken the gravy a little. In a separate glass, mix flour with a small amount of water and pour into the meat. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
STEP 8

The stewed meat with onions is ready! It will perfectly complement any side dish. Bon appetit!
