STEP 1

How to prepare plums in syrup for the winter? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any plums, as long as they are without cracks or signs of rot.
STEP 2

Boil water in a saucepan and blanch the plums in it for about 3 minutes. Thanks to this, the plum in the workpiece will retain its bright color.
STEP 3

Remove the blanched plums from the water with a slotted spoon and place in a colander to drain. Rinse the cans of soda and sterilize them in a way convenient for you: in the oven, microwave or steam. I used wide neck bottles. Wash the lids with soda and boil for 3-5 minutes.
STEP 4

Add sugar to the water in which the plums were blanched and bring to a boil. Add a little citric acid to the resulting syrup. Thanks to this, the syrup will immediately lighten and become transparent.
STEP 5

Place blanched plums in sterile jars or bottles.
STEP 6

Fill the bottles completely unless you want a simple compote.
STEP 7

Pour boiling syrup over the plums and seal immediately. Send the workpieces “under the fur coat” until they cool completely. Happy preparations!
