  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make pear juice for the winter? Prepare your food. Take firm and juicy pears. They must be ripe enough for the juice to be tasty and sweet. Wash them thoroughly and dry with a towel.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the pears into quarters and remove the core and any spoiled areas.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pass the pears through a meat grinder. You can do this either manually or electrically. Place a deep bowl for the resulting mass.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Strain the resulting mixture of juice and pulp through cheesecloth. If you want a lighter juice, fold it in several layers; with pulp, one thin layer is enough. Then gather the gauze into a bunch and squeeze out the remaining juice thoroughly. One kilogram of pears usually yields about half a liter of juice. Don’t throw away the resulting cake; there are many interesting recipes for it.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour the resulting juice into a saucepan and bring it to a boil over low heat. Boil the juice for 15 minutes. Remove any foam that appears with a spoon. You can add a little sugar, but this is not necessary, because... Pear juice itself is quite sweet. Pour the hot juice into sterilized jars and close with a sterilized lid. Wrap the jars in something warm and leave until completely cool.
