    How to cook pea soup with smoked chicken? Prepare your food. Any chicken parts will do - drumsticks, thighs, legs. Take yellow split peas, they boil better and faster. You can change its quantity depending on what kind of soup you want - thick or thin.

    Place the peas in a soup pot and rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. I don’t soak the peas; split peas cook well without it. Trim the meat from the chicken bones. Place the bones in the pan with the peas, cut the meat into pieces. I removed the skin.

    Pour clean cold water over the pitted peas. I like thick soup, so I used a lot of peas and little water. Place the pan on low heat.

    After boiling, remove the foam with a spoon, cover the pan with a lid, and turn the heat to low. Cook peas for 40 minutes to an hour, until soft. If necessary, you can add hot water to the pan if its level decreases.

    While the peas are cooking, prepare the roasting. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes, rinse it and your knife with cold water.

    Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a coarse grater.

    Wash the bell pepper, cut it, remove the center with seeds. Cut the pulp into strips.

    Heat a frying pan over medium heat, pour vegetable oil into it. Fry vegetables in it, stirring, for about 10 minutes until soft.

    Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into cubes.

    Throw potatoes into soup. Cook for another 20 minutes until the potatoes are done.

    Then remove the bones from the soup and add the roast and chopped meat. Add salt to taste. You can also add your favorite spices and bay leaf. Boil the soup over low heat for another 10 minutes, then cover the pan with a lid, turn off the heat and let the dish stand for 10 minutes.

I decided to make pea soup with smoked chicken using this recipe. I soaked the peas and separated the meat from the bones of the legs. Cooked over medium heat for 20 minutes. Added potatoes and cooked for another 15 minutes. With frying and meat, another 10. The total time was about an hour. I added a little less salt, you have to taste it and take into account that the smoked ham will add additional saltiness to the soup. At the end I added frozen dill, what would a soup be without greens. Igoge produced a very aromatic soup with notes of smoked meat. Thanks to the author!

I really love peas in any form, be it pureed or in soup. I often cook it even for my little daughter. I cook according to the standard recipe, but today I read your recipe for pea soup with smoked chicken and was surprised that the recipe contains bell pepper and decided to prepare the soup in a new way.
