  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make pancakes with onions and carrots? Prepare your food. Take large, juicy carrots. You will only need one onion, but you can reduce the quantity to taste. It may take more or less flour, everything will depend on the juiciness of the carrots. Read about the properties of flour in the article below the steps. If you find it is not very juicy, you may need a little kefir to thin the dough.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the carrots well under running water, peel and dry. Grate the carrots on a medium grater. You can, of course, rub it on a coarse one, but then the pancakes will turn out coarser and more textured. They will also take longer to cook. Grated carrots on a very fine grater will turn into puree, you can try cooking it like that. I like the middle grater the most. Alternatively, you can grind the carrots in a blender.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the onion and also grate it. If you are an onion lover, you can cut it into cubes, then it will taste stronger.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the grated carrots and onions in a bowl and beat in the egg. Salt and pepper to taste. If children will eat the dish, you may not add pepper to it. Stir the carrot mixture. If it turns out very dry, then pour a little kefir into it, just a little, literally a couple of spoons.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Start adding flour to the carrots. First one tablespoon, stir. Then another. The dough should be homogeneous and not fall apart. If it is not like that, then add a little more flour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Heat a frying pan over medium heat, pour vegetable oil into it for frying. Place one tablespoon of dough into the oil, forming pancakes. Don't make them too thick so that they have time to cook inside. For how to choose a frying pan and oil for frying, read the separate articles at the end of this recipe.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Fry the pancakes until golden brown on one side, about 5 minutes, then flip over to the other. Fry them on the other side in the same way. Remove the finished pancakes from the pan. Before the next batch, add a little more oil to it. Fry all the dough in this way. I got 8 pancakes from two medium carrots.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Serve them with sour cream. Bon appetit!

I made pancakes with onions and carrots using this recipe today. I chopped the carrots and onions in a blender. Added a clove of garlic, an egg and salt and pepper to them. I kneaded the dough. I needed more flour, probably because I didn’t chop the onion, but chopped it very much. The pancakes turned out golden brown and soft. They hold their shape well and do not fall apart. And they are very tasty. And I also realized that if the carrots are sweet, then you need to add more salt. Thanks to the author for the recipe!

Vegetable pancakes with onions and carrots are something incredibly delicious! These pancakes will definitely appeal to lovers of vegetables, in particular carrots and onions. It turns out that these vegetables can even be eaten as baked goods. These pancakes are especially tasty with sour cream and fresh herbs. I served them to the table without warning the household about the contents, and the reviews were very good, even from children who cannot be fed with onions and carrots in their usual form.
