Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to cook oatmeal in a slow cooker with milk? Prepare your food. Both instant and long-cooking oatmeal are suitable for preparing porridge. The recipe is designed specifically for “hard” flakes; for “Extra” (soft) flakes, reduce the amount of milk to 370 ml. Take natural, high-quality milk, but the fat content can be any, the calorie content of the dish will depend on this. For oatmeal, read the article at the end of the recipe.
STEP 2
Pour the cereal into the multicooker bowl. Add sugar and salt. You can increase or decrease the amount according to your taste. I would add a little more salt, I had enough sugar. Add butter to the bowl. Choose high-quality, natural, without added vegetable fats. You can add oil immediately after cooking; I often do this this way. STEP 3
Pour milk into the slow cooker. I strongly advise you to prepare a small portion of porridge for testing and understand what proportions of milk and cereal you like. I ended up with a rather runny porridge, but that’s how we like it. For those who like it so thick that the spoon stands up, increase the amount of cereal or reduce the milk.
STEP 4
Turn on the multicooker mode suitable for cooking porridge. I have the automatic “Milk porridge” mode; the cooking time on it varies depending on the volume of food. If you set a time, then choose 25 minutes for hard flakes and 15 minutes for Extra. After the signal, open the lid and stir the porridge. Close the lid again and let the porridge sit for about 15 minutes, it will become thicker and tastier. Please note that all multicookers work differently.
STEP 5
Serve the porridge hot, with milk or tea. As additives, you can use honey (but then reduce the sugar at the beginning), nuts, fruits, berries, chocolate, and various syrups. Bon appetit!
