Thank you for participating in the Best Recipe of the Week competition. Julia, the cookies are excellent. But the motley tabletop is not quite in keeping with the theme; it is very aggressive in color. For the background, monochromatic, calm colors are desirable. The tabletop attracts the eye with its diversity. And the cookies are heterogeneous, with specks, and the tabletop is the same. They compete very much with each other for attention. And there shouldn’t be any competition in the frame. There is a main course, everything else is just an addition to it. If there was a white, light cream, or even dark brown background, the cookies would stand out very well on it and it would be immediately clear that they are the main thing in the frame. And so it is very difficult for the eye to catch on to something: there are specks in the plate, specks behind the plate... If there is no calmer background, then it is better to buy a piece of light plain fabric 60-70 cm wide (if you have a white tablecloth, then you don’t need to buy ) and use it as a background. A table top will do for step-by-step illustrations, but it’s not suitable for the main photo. It is very difficult to choose the right accessories for it.
