Nuts in a Soviet hazelnut rack

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make nuts in a Soviet nut maker on gas? Prepare the indicated ingredients. It is better to remove margarine from the refrigerator first. Lemon juice is needed to extinguish soda; you can extinguish soda with vinegar. Read about all the nuances of working with soda in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Sift the flour through a sieve. Thanks to this, it will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished nuts will turn out more tender.
STEP 2

In a deep bowl, mix softened margarine, eggs and powdered sugar. I plan to fill the nuts with boiled condensed milk, so I add less powdered sugar. Mix all the added ingredients thoroughly.
STEP 3

Add soda to the dough and pour in lemon juice. Mix everything well.
STEP 4

Gradually add sifted flour to the dough, kneading the dough. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a little more or a little less. You can read more about flour and its properties in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Gather the dough into a ball.
STEP 5

Pinch off small pieces from the dough, roll them into balls and place them in the compartment for half a nut. It is better to take a smaller ball size, smaller than a walnut, since the excess dough will heat up and flow from the nutbox onto the fire, and because of this, the bottom of the nutbox may burn. You can make a lot of such preparations at once.
STEP 6

Until the nut rack is well heated, fry the nuts for a minute on each side, and once it is completely heated, 30 seconds on each side will be enough. The exact time depends on the characteristics of your hazel tree. The finished halves of nuts can be easily removed from the mold without outside help. If there is excess dough on the nuts, you can cut them off.
STEP 7

Cool the finished halves of nuts. They can already be served for tea. But for a dessert familiar from childhood, the halves of nuts need to be filled with boiled condensed milk and connected to each other. Enjoy your tea!
