  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make nuts in a Soviet nut maker on gas? Prepare the indicated ingredients. It is better to remove margarine from the refrigerator first. Lemon juice is needed to extinguish soda; you can extinguish soda with vinegar. Read about all the nuances of working with soda in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Sift the flour through a sieve. Thanks to this, it will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished nuts will turn out more tender.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

In a deep bowl, mix softened margarine, eggs and powdered sugar. I plan to fill the nuts with boiled condensed milk, so I add less powdered sugar. Mix all the added ingredients thoroughly.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add soda to the dough and pour in lemon juice. Mix everything well.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Gradually add sifted flour to the dough, kneading the dough. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a little more or a little less. You can read more about flour and its properties in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Gather the dough into a ball.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pinch off small pieces from the dough, roll them into balls and place them in the compartment for half a nut. It is better to take a smaller ball size, smaller than a walnut, since the excess dough will heat up and flow from the nutbox onto the fire, and because of this, the bottom of the nutbox may burn. You can make a lot of such preparations at once.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Until the nut rack is well heated, fry the nuts for a minute on each side, and once it is completely heated, 30 seconds on each side will be enough. The exact time depends on the characteristics of your hazel tree. The finished halves of nuts can be easily removed from the mold without outside help. If there is excess dough on the nuts, you can cut them off.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cool the finished halves of nuts. They can already be served for tea. But for a dessert familiar from childhood, the halves of nuts need to be filled with boiled condensed milk and connected to each other. Enjoy your tea!

Our family has a tradition: every New Year I bake nuts in a Soviet nut pan. Previously, when I was a child, my mother did this, but now I have been baking cookies for many years. For some reason I don’t make them at other times and take out my mother’s hazelnut tree only once a year. When I saw this recipe I was even surprised, it was exactly how we always baked nuts. Although later I already tried more than one option. The only thing is that I replaced margarine with butter. After all, today's margarine is no longer the same. For the dough I needed a little more flour, this is usually the case, because the flour is different, and so is the size of the eggs. I immediately made blanks to optimize the process. In about half an hour all the dough was used, that's pretty fast. I trim the edges of the shells with kitchen scissors; it’s more convenient than using a knife, for example. The shells are hard, not loose. This year I completely entrusted the filling to my daughter, she was terribly proud of it) They filled it with boiled condensed milk. Sometimes I add a piece of walnut inside. Nuts have the taste of childhood, I recommend this time-tested recipe to everyone.

The recipe is perfect! I mixed scraps and crumbs with boiled condensed milk... mmmmm... it’s a pity that they took it to friends’ table... They hid the delicacy in the refrigerator from the horde of children to enjoy the far-forgotten feeling of childhood alone with a cup of aromatic tea then, in silence))) sprinkled with powder for a special magic... well, today I’m making condensed milk again. It's January 1, 2023. Happy New Year !!!

Everything turned out great 👍The dough is easy to prepare, my daughter did everything herself, I just fried the shells themselves. I then finely broke the scraps from the shells and not very beautiful shells, mixed them with condensed milk, added nuts, a little cocoa and formed an anthill 🤗

The best nut recipe I've ever baked. Only I replaced the margarine with butter and the soda with baking powder. As a filling, I make a cream from chilled boiled condensed milk with butter. The result is moderately crispy, tasty nuts.

My husband and I have been baking these nuts for a year now! And not even for myself, but for my wonderful customers who are delighted with the taste of nuts. Only instead of margarine I put high-quality butter with 82.5% fat content and cook condensed milk myself, sometimes adding walnuts. The recipe is perfect! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
