    Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into medium cubes. Peel the onion.

    Place potatoes, whole onion and bay leaf in a saucepan. Add chicken or vegetable broth (or water).

    Place the pan on the fire and bring the water to a boil. Cook vegetables over medium heat for about 15 minutes.

At first, the mushrooms will release a lot of liquid, which will then evaporate. If desired, sprinkle the mushrooms with chopped dill. Add salt, pepper and stir.

For the first course I prepared mushroom soup from frozen champignons. I used vegetable broth for the soup. I fried the mushrooms in a frying pan. I added the onion to the soup, cut into small cubes, without frying it. I’m fine with onions in soup, so I didn’t cook them whole. I used cream cheese without any flavoring additives.
