STEP 1

How to make meat balls in the oven? Prepare your food. For this dish, minced meat from any meat is suitable - pork, beef, chicken, turkey, veal. Use sour cream of any fat content, the main thing is that it is of good quality, without milk fat substitutes. Place the required amount of minced meat into a spacious bowl.
STEP 2

Peel the onion, rinse in cold water and finely chop. Add the chopped onion to the bowl with the minced meat. Onions can be chopped in other ways - grated, passed through a meat grinder, punched in a chopper.
STEP 3

Add the egg to the bowl. Sprinkle the minced meat with salt and spices to taste. You can use any spices you like. Mix the whole mass well.
STEP 4

After mixing, the minced meat will seem too liquid to form into balls. This can be dealt with by adding a little semolina to the minced meat. It will absorb excess moisture. Breadcrumbs are also suitable instead of semolina. Knead the minced meat well. Let it sit for a while so that the semolina swells.
STEP 5

Prepare the sauce in which the balls will be baked. How to make sauce? Combine sour cream with water. Stir so that the sour cream is evenly dispersed in the water.
STEP 6

Pour some sour cream sauce into the prepared baking dish. Then roll the minced meat into meat balls and place them in the mold. To prevent the minced meat from sticking to your hands, wet your hands in cold water before each ball.
STEP 7

Pour sour cream sauce over all the meat balls. Place the pan in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 40 minutes. Make sure there is enough sauce. If it all boils away, add a little hot water. The balls should become golden brown, with a delicious golden brown crust.
STEP 8

Place the finished meat balls on plates and serve hot. As a side dish, you can prepare boiled rice or mashed potatoes. But they will also be very tasty as an independent dish! Bon appetit!
