  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to quickly and easily cook millet porridge with pumpkin in a slow cooker? Prepare your ingredients. Peel the pumpkin and cut into pieces (the ingredients indicate the weight of the pulp already cleared of seeds and peel). Take good quality butter, natural, without vegetable additives. Choose millet for porridge that is bright yellow, without shine. The lighter the color of the millet, the more viscous the porridge will be. And porridge made from dark millet will be crumbly.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour boiling water over the millet and leave to stand for 1 minute. Why pour boiling water over cereal? This is necessary to remove the bitterness that is inherent in millet. Then drain the hot water and rinse the millet 2-3 more times with plain water.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Grease the multicooker bowl with butter to half its height. Why do this? This will prevent the milk from boiling over. When cooking, the milk will not rise above the oil level.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the washed millet and pumpkin, cut into pieces, into the greased multicooker bowl. During the cooking process, the millet will increase significantly in volume, take this into account when choosing the number of servings.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add some sugar and a pinch of salt to the bowl. Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste. If you like your porridge to be sweet, you can add a little more sugar.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Then pour milk and water into the bowl. Mix everything and close the multicooker lid. If you want the consistency of the finished porridge to be liquid, you can add a little more milk to it.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Turn on the “milk porridge” mode (or another suitable one, depending on your model) for 30 minutes. There is no need to open the bowl during cooking. The multicooker greatly simplifies the process of preparing any porridge. And only the benefits are visible in the taste.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

After the specified time, the multicooker will emit a sound signal, indicating that the cooking time has expired. Carefully open the lid. Don't get burned - hot steam will come out of there! Millet porridge with pumpkin is ready.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the porridge on prepared plates and serve hot. Bon appetit!

I think that cooking any porridge in a slow cooker is the surest and easiest way to achieve excellent results!! I especially like to cook millet porridge with pumpkin this way. Thanks to the author, a very harmonious recipe!! I used frozen pumpkin, which is probably why it boiled more. After cooking, beat the porridge with a spatula and add a small piece of butter.

I’m just learning to cook, and your recipe became a discovery for me. Somehow, my relationship with millet was not easy, it always turned out viscous, like paste. But this time everything is completely different: light, airy, coquettishly slipping out of the milky embrace and delicious, in my case, delicious even without added sugar. I experienced great pleasure this winter evening, and there was still a portion left for the morning. Thank you
