Meat skoblyanka

Delicious meat scraper, reminiscent of a carefree childhood. Our grandmothers used to often prepare this kind of skoblyanka for us. So I decided to remember this recipe and offer it to you!!!

Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 1 hr
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Prepare the necessary ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

The meat should be frozen, but not frozen, so that it can be easily cut. Cut the meat into thin slices and add a little pepper.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Heat 2 tbsp in a frying pan. l. vegetable oil, fry the meat over fairly high heat for about a minute. Then remove from the pan into a cup.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the onion, cut into cubes and fry in the remaining oil until soft.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Then transfer it to a cup with meat.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Wash the potatoes, peel them, cut into strips. Pour oil into a frying pan and fry the potatoes until almost done.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the meat and onions on the potatoes and cook over low heat until cooked. In principle, you can stop at this step; this is where grandma’s version ends.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

If you want to add new flavors to this dish, you can serve it with lingonberry or cranberry sauce. Crush two cloves of garlic with the blunt side of a knife without peeling. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and heat the garlic over medium heat for 1 minute. Remove garlic. Add washed and slightly dried cranberries or lingonberries to the oil, fry a little in oil. The berries should release juice. Add pepper, sugar, honey and cook for three minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

The first option is to serve with cucumbers, fresh vegetables, sauerkraut, or simply sprinkled with herbs. The second one is self-sufficient in taste, so you just need to pour berry sauce over the dish. Bon appetit!!!

Well, I finally know what it's called. Meat and potatoes are basically a win-win option. Although the dish should be terribly high in calories, it seems to me that if you replace the meat with less high-calorie beef or pork, it will be no less tasty. I can also recommend serving it with a salad of boiled beets (or fresh carrots), grated with garlic, and seasoned with mayonnaise or sour cream. I’ll tell the housewives a little secret, such a salad will even hide small flaws in the main dish if something didn’t work out for you =)
