  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook manti in a frying pan without a pressure cooker? Prepare your food. First for the test. The amount of flour is approximate; you may need more or less. You will watch the dough and add more if necessary.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Take a bowl and sift the flour into it. Although the dough does not need to rise, sifting will still improve its properties. Make a hole in the center and pour salt into it. Start adding water while stirring the flour with a fork. Knead the dough first with a fork, then with your hands. I first kneaded it in a bowl, then transferred it to a board.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

While kneading, add flour until the dough stops sticking to your hands. It should become elastic, smooth and uniform. Gather the dough into a ball and leave under a napkin on the table for 30 minutes. During this time, the flour will completely absorb the liquid, gluten will develop in it, which is responsible for the elasticity of the dough. Aged dough is much easier and easier to work with.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

While the dough is resting, prepare the filling. Minced meat can be made from any meat, I used beef. You can use ready-made minced meat or make it yourself.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them into small cubes. You can also grate vegetables on a coarse grater.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add onions and potatoes to meat. Salt and pepper it. Knead the filling well with your hands. If it crumbles too much, pour a little cold water into it.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Stretch the finished dough into a sausage. Cut it into portions. Roll each piece into a circle a couple of millimeters thick. If necessary, add flour while rolling.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place a spoonful of minced meat in the center of the workpiece.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Connect the opposite ends in the center, pinch the resulting seams.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Connect adjacent corners in pairs, forming a mantle. Make manti from all the dough. I cooked two-thirds of the portion, I got 15 pieces. Manti can be stored in the freezer so you can cook frozen later.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Take a frying pan and grease it with a small amount of vegetable oil. Place manti on it. Pour in hot water until it reaches halfway up. Cover the pan with a lid and place over medium heat. When the water boils, turn down the heat.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Cook manti for 30-35 minutes. If the water boils away too much in the middle of cooking, add a little. By the end of time it should completely boil away.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Serve manti hot with tomato sauce or sour cream. Bon appetit!

I didn’t know before that you can cook manti in a frying pan, not in a saucepan. But everything turned out as it should, they are no different from those cooked in any other way. Except that in the double boiler they are a little different, but that’s understandable. Thanks for the recipe.
