Step-by-step preparation
Cooking time: 40 mins
STEP 1
Pour the washed lentils with water, bring to a boil, and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
STEP 2
Drain the water from the lentils and add until the volume is 400 ml again.
STEP 3
Cut 1 onion into medium cubes, fry until translucent, add cumin and heat for 2-3 minutes.
STEP 4
Place the washed rice in the pan and heat, stirring, for 3-5 minutes.
STEP 5
Add lentils to the rice, add water, bring to a boil over high heat, add salt, add garlic cloves, reduce heat to low, and cook covered until water is absorbed for 20 minutes.
STEP 6
Cut the remaining onion into half or quarter rings.
STEP 7
Fry until golden.
STEP 8
Mix with cooked rice. Remove the garlic cloves.
