Liver stewed with cabbage
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make stewed liver with cabbage quickly and tasty? In addition to beef liver, you can use any other liver - pork or chicken. You can use fresh or frozen liver. The frozen product must first be defrosted on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. You can replace the tomato paste with ketchup or fresh peeled and diced tomatoes. You can use any vegetable oil. I have sunflower.
STEP 2
Wash the head of cabbage and remove the top spoiled leaves. Depending on the size of the head of cabbage, you can use it all or cut off part of the required weight. Chop the cabbage into thin strips.
STEP 3
Place the cabbage in a saucepan, pour in 150 ml of water. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes until the cabbage softens.
STEP 4
Meanwhile, prepare the remaining ingredients. Remove large ducts and blood clots from the liver, if any. Rinse thoroughly. Cut into medium pieces.
STEP 5
Peel the onion and cut into half rings. If you or your children do not like onions, you can omit them altogether or replace them with another vegetable to taste. For example, for bell peppers.
STEP 6
Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater.
STEP 7
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan with a thick bottom. Fry the onion until transparent.
STEP 8
Add the grated carrots and fry everything together until soft, about 3-5 minutes.
STEP 9
Add chopped beef liver and fry everything together until half cooked.
STEP 10
Add softened cabbage to the pan. Salt, pepper and mix everything. If you don’t have a deep frying pan that will fit the cabbage and liver, you can fry the vegetables and liver in a frying pan, and then transfer everything into the pan with the cabbage. And continue cooking in the pan.
STEP 11
Add sour cream and tomato paste. Pour in 150 ml of hot water and mix everything thoroughly.
STEP 12
Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the cabbage and liver for 25-30 minutes until cooked. Bon appetit!
