    STEP 1

How to prepare lingonberry sauce for meat for the winter? We prepare all the ingredients for making homemade lingonberry sauce for meat.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onion, rinse under running water and cut into small cubes. Pour olive oil into a frying pan, heat it up and fry the onion over medium heat until transparent. Transfer the fried onions into the bowl in which the sauce will be prepared.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Wash the orange thoroughly, wipe it with a paper towel and grate the zest of the entire orange on a very fine grater.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cut the orange into several parts, put it into a blender and grind. We place the strainer over the bowl, put gauze on the strainer and spread the resulting orange pulp on it. We collect the gauze into a bundle and squeeze out the juice from the orange pulp.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

We wash the lingonberries under water and add them to the lightly fried onions.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Immediately add the orange zest and orange juice. Add natural honey and mix the entire contents of the pan. Place the pan on the stove and simmer the sauce over low heat for 10 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Transfer some of the sauce into a blender and grind, and then pour it back into the pan. You can puree with a hand blender, but it is very important that some of the berries remain whole.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour dry red wine into the pan and cook the sauce for another 15 minutes. If the sauce is very thick, you can add a little water.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

When the sauce has cooled a little and becomes warm, pour it into a gravy boat and serve with the meat.

Marina, a very tasty and healthy dish! It turns out to be a mega vitamin sauce for meat. It’s good that you have a lot of lingonberries in your forest. You can eat until you’re full during the season and prepare for the winter, and all this is very budget-friendly! Thank you very much for the recipe!

The sauce smells very orange. More precisely, apart from them, nothing is felt. Very disappointed!! I just ruined the food.
