  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make lazy chebureks from lavash? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Use minced meat from any meat you like best. I took pork and beef. For my taste, it makes the most “real” pasties. Take a large onion or several small ones. The onion will add juiciness to the filling.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the pita bread into strips approximately 15x45 cm. But be guided by the size of your pita bread. It was convenient for me to cut each into 3 strips.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Lavash dries quickly, so to prevent it from drying out and becoming brittle, wrap it in cling film or, like me, put it in a bag.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Make the filling. Transfer the minced meat into a deep bowl. Peel the onion, rinse and finely chop. Add it to the minced meat.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add salt and pepper to taste and thoroughly knead the filling until smooth. If it is difficult to knead, add a little water and mix again.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Divide the minced meat into the number of strips you have. Place the filling on the corner to form an isosceles triangle.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Then wrap the loose pita bread around the cheburek several times, forming a triangular envelope. Fold the remaining short edge of the pita bread inward so that all edges are covered.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Make all the pasties this way. You can fry during the process or make all the pasties and then fry.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

If you do everything at once, put it in a bag immediately so that the pita bread does not dry out.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Heat a frying pan and grease it with oil. If you have a non-stick coating, you don’t have to grease it at all. Fry the lavash pasties in a frying pan over medium heat for several minutes on both sides until golden brown.

You can also bake a pita roll with minced meat. Also a good option.

When you want delicious pasties, but don’t have time to fuss with dough, you can make lazy pasties from pita bread with minced meat in a frying pan! The idea is super: the thinnest lavash with a crispy crust after frying, and inside there is juicy, tender minced meat! Mm... it's simply delicious - very tasty! I used minced chicken and added a little ketchup. Many thanks to the author for the wonderful recipe 😘
