    The main ingredient of lazy dumplings, as you know, is cottage cheese. It is very important to choose good cottage cheese in the store, so that it is moderately sour and crumbly, and most importantly natural. Cottage cheese of any fat content is suitable, but I like to cook with 5% cottage cheese. We also need flour (exactly 140 grams!), preferably sifted in advance, one egg, sugar and salt.

    Using a fork, mash the cottage cheese with sugar and salt. We take two tablespoons of sugar, if you want it sweeter, then three tablespoons. A small pinch of salt is enough just to balance the taste.

    Then add one chicken egg and continue to mash the curd mixture with a fork.

    Add 140 grams of flour to the curd mixture and knead the dough. The recipe contains just enough flour so that the dough does not stick to your hands. It is not advisable to add more flour so that the dumplings do not turn out tough. You can only sprinkle a couple of spoons of flour on the table when making dumplings so that they do not stick to the table.

    Roll the dough into a sausage, which we cut into small pieces of the same size. Then we roll each piece into a ball. We do this with all the dough and make lazy dumplings.

    Now the most interesting thing is to make a depression or hole in each ball with your finger, dipping your finger in flour. This hole is needed so that butter or sour cream (sauce) will accumulate in it later in the finished lazy dumplings. It tastes better this way!

    Throw our lazy dumplings into boiling salted water. After the dumplings float to the surface, cook just a little for literally 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings from the water and add butter.

    Serve lazy dumplings with fresh sour cream. They can also be eaten with jam, condensed milk and any sweet sauce. I use fresh strawberries, ground with sugar.

For breakfast we have cottage cheese again. For some reason no one eats it raw. So we have to look for new delivery options. This time we have lazy dumplings. The dough kneaded perfectly and came together into a ball. The bun was divided into four parts, and then each part was rolled into a sausage. It didn’t work out to roll the pieces into balls, and it took a long time for me. So I cut the pieces, rounded the edges and made a notch. Everything worked out pretty quickly. I set the water to boil before starting to knead the dough, just as it boiled in the first batch. I put the lazy dumplings in four batches, it’s more convenient, the dumplings don’t stick together and cook quickly. After floating, I cooked it for literally half a minute. The dumplings were cooked through, were not raw, and did not fall apart. After complete cooling they became more stable. I watered them with strawberry syrup. It turned out beautiful and tasty. My cottage cheese was fresh, so the dumplings did not sour and turned out slightly sweet. Sweet sauces and sour cream go well with them. Thanks for the recipe!

It turned out delicious. I added 80 grams of flour and left the rest for rolling. I had a little less cottage cheese and 400 grams in total. I prepared cherry sauce for them, it turned out as if with cherries and cottage cheese.
