  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make lazy dumplings with potatoes? Prepare your food. You can specially prepare puree for making dumplings or use ready-made puree left over from dinner. I'll cook half the portion. The weight of the potatoes is indicated already peeled. The amount of flour given is approximate; how much you need will depend on the dough.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

How to cook potatoes? Wash and peel it, then cut it into pieces, this will help the potatoes cook faster. Place it in a saucepan and fill it with cold, clean water.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the pan over medium heat, wait until it boils, then turn down the heat. Cook the potatoes until tender, 20-25 minutes, depending on size and variety. Determine readiness with a knife - it should pierce the pieces freely. There is no need to salt the potatoes; we will do this at the dough kneading stage.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Drain the potatoes and mash them into a puree.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add a piece of butter, stir.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Beat the eggs into the puree, add salt and pepper to taste. Stir again until smooth. You can use a mixer, a spoon was enough for me.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Start adding flour in small portions, kneading the dough after each addition. Now look at how the dough turns out to understand whether to add more flour or not. If there is too much flour, the dumplings will turn out hard and not tasty.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

The dough will become quite thick, but will still be a little sticky to your hands.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Take a portion of the dough and place it on a table or board dusted with flour. Roll it into a sausage. Cut it into small pieces. For beauty, you can flatten each piece a little with a fork. I left the dumplings as is.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Boil the dumplings. How to cook lazy dumplings? Place a pan of clean water on the fire, bring the water to a boil, and salt it. Throw the lazy dumplings into the water, be sure to stir them with a spoon, otherwise they will stick to the bottom. Wait for the dumplings to float and boil them for 3-4 minutes. Remove the finished dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve immediately. Do not cook a lot of dumplings at once, it is better to do it in portions. Large quantities may clump together.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

While the dumplings are cooking, or better yet a little earlier, prepare the onions. Peel it and cut it as desired - I cut it into cubes, or half rings.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Heat a frying pan over low heat, put a small piece of butter on it and then pour in a little vegetable oil. Adding vegetable oil will prevent the butter from burning, since the former has a higher combustion temperature. Place onion in hot oil. Fry the onion, stirring, over low heat until golden brown.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Serve the dumplings by sprinkling the fried onions on top. These dumplings with butter and sour cream are also delicious. Bon appetit!

I saw a recipe for lazy dumplings with potatoes and wanted to cook them. I boiled the potatoes. I mashed it, added salt, a mixture of peppers and an egg. Mixed well. I added more flour than recommended. When it became convenient to work with the dough, I rolled the sausage and cut it. These dumplings cook quickly and turn out very tasty. Seasoned them with onions fried in vegetable oil with the addition of melted butter. But you can also use sour cream for this. I froze some of the raw lazy dumplings. And if I want, I can boil them at any time. Katushafin, thanks for the recipe!
