Lazy cabbage rolls without cabbage with rice in a frying pan
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make lazy cabbage rolls without cabbage with rice in a frying pan? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. For this dish, you can use not only minced pork, but also beef and minced meat from different types of meat. I used minced pork and beef. Choose larger carrots. My onion was quite large, so I only took half.
STEP 2
Rinse the rice several times until the water runs clear. Pour boiling water over it and wrap it in a towel. There is no need to cook the rice. While you prepare the remaining ingredients, the rice will reach the desired condition. This will take about 15 minutes. Then drain off the excess liquid. In this way, the rice will turn out crumbly and will be half cooked. When cooking, there is a risk of overcooking the rice into porridge.
STEP 3
Wash and peel the onions and carrots. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
STEP 4
Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the onion in it until transparent over medium heat, stirring. This will take 2-3 minutes.
STEP 5
Add the grated carrots to the frying pan with the onions and fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes.
STEP 6
Place the minced meat in a deep bowl, add prepared rice, fried vegetables, salt, pepper, suneli hops. You can also add your favorite spices at this stage. Mix everything well. You can add one raw egg if you wish, but even without an egg the cabbage rolls keep their shape perfectly.
STEP 7
Shape the lazy cabbage rolls into oblong cutlets, wetting your hands in cold water to prevent the minced meat from sticking to them.
STEP 8
In a frying pan (I used the same one in which I fried the vegetables), heat the vegetable oil and place the lazy cabbage rolls on it. Fry the cabbage rolls for 2-3 minutes on each side.
STEP 9
While the cabbage rolls are browning in the pan, prepare the filling. To do this, mix sour cream and tomato paste with a glass of water, add salt to taste. To ensure that the filling has a uniform consistency, you can use an immersion blender. I used a regular whisk.
STEP 10
Pour the tomato-sour cream filling over the lazy cabbage rolls and add a bay leaf. Simmer the cabbage rolls under a closed lid over low heat for 10-12 minutes.
STEP 11
Serve the finished lazy cabbage rolls, sprinkled with fresh finely chopped herbs. Bon appetit!
