Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make kitchari? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Rinse the mung beans and soak overnight.
STEP 2

Place the Ghi butter in a cauldron and when it melts and warms up, put all our spices there so that their taste and aroma are revealed.
STEP 3

Meanwhile, peel and finely chop the onion.
STEP 4

Fry the onion in oil with spices.
STEP 5

Then rinse the rice several times and place it in a cauldron with the onions.
STEP 6

Place the washed mung beans on top of the rice. Stir the contents of the cauldron so that the rice and mung beans are mixed with spices.
STEP 7

Then pour 1:2 water into the cauldron, add salt and cook the rice with mung bean until the water has completely evaporated. When all the water is gone, our kitchari is ready.

What an interesting recipe! I've never made kitchari before. I bought mung beans for sprouting sprouts, and then I saw this recipe and immediately prepared it.
