STEP 1

How to bake cutlets in tomato sauce in the oven? Prepare your food. You can use any minced meat, I used beef and pork. For tomato sauce - crushed tomatoes in tomato juice. It can also be replaced with tomato paste diluted in water. Sour cream is suitable for any fat content.
STEP 2

Remove all crusts from the bread. The best choice is regular white wheat bread or a stale loaf - it will absorb liquid better than fresh bread and make the cutlets juicy. Fill the crumb with a small amount of water. Leave for a few minutes to swell. Then squeeze out the excess moisture and drain it, and knead the bread itself a little with your hand. You can use milk instead of water.
STEP 3

Chop the onion in any way convenient for you. You can use a meat grinder, blender, chopper, I just grated it.
STEP 4

Mix minced meat, bread, onion, salt and pepper. You can also add any herbs and spices you like.
STEP 5

Form rounded cutlets from all the minced meat. Place them in a baking dish or frying pan that can be placed in the oven.
STEP 6

Mix tomato sauce and sour cream. Taste it; if the sauce is not salty at all, add salt.
STEP 7

Pour the resulting sauce over the cutlets. Distribute it evenly throughout the pan.
STEP 8

Cover the pan with foil. Place in the oven preheated to 200°C for 30-40 minutes.
STEP 9

Then remove the foil from the pan and bake the cutlets for about 10 minutes until they are browned on top. Serve the finished cutlets hot, sprinkled with sauce, with any side dish or salad. Bon appetit!
