Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 1 hr
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Roast the nuts in a frying pan.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cook rice in milk, or as usual in water (in this case you will need less milk) - at the end add milk (if cooked in water), nuts, saffron, cardamom and turmeric - cook.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Remove from heat and add raisins (or add raisins during the cooking stage - then they will absorb the liquid and be juicier).

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then there are two options: 1. Add ghee and sugar (preferably cane sugar - then the kheer will have an original Indian taste). 2. Add butter (or do not add butter). Wait until it cools down and add honey. It is important to remember that honey and ghee are incompatible - their combination in one dish can be hazardous to health.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

After cooling, pour the pudding into bowls and garnish with nuts when serving.
